About Liechtenstein
The Principality of Liechtenstein is a small, doubly landlocked country located in Central Europe, nestled between Switzerland and Austria. As one of the smallest states in the world, Liechtenstein covers just 160 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 38,000. Despite its modest size, the country boasts a robust and prosperous economy, underpinned by its solid financial sector, high degree of industrialization, and low corporate tax rates, attracting a multitude of companies to its soil. Liechtenstein is not just a thriving economic hub; it's also a cultural gem. The capital, Vaduz, and its largest town, Schaan, offer a range of cultural and historical attractions, including the Vaduz Castle, the princely family's residence, and the Liechtenstein Museum of Fine Arts. Furthermore, it has stunning natural beauty, characterized by alpine landscapes offering excellent opportunities for winter sports and hiking. Its high standard of living, marked by excellent education and healthcare systems, complements these characteristics. Interestingly, Liechtenstein is the last remaining monarchy of the Holy Roman Empire and one of the two countries worldwide using the Swiss Franc. Even though it's not a European Union member, it maintains close ties with the bloc through its customs union with Switzerland and its participation in the Schengen Area.
